The system installed on each wind turbine covers an area of 1 km radius. When a bird approaches, an HD camera captures its image and tracks its flight. nvbird® has a bird-detection accuracy of 97,3%.

The bird is identified using artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to search the system’s species database and categorized based on the existing environmental impact assessment.

If the identified bird belongs to a protected species, an ASR sound is transmitted as the bird enters the designated zone to deter it from reaching the turbine.

If the bird remains inside the critical zone approaching the RSA (Rotor Swept Area), the system sends a signal to the SCADA to shut down the wind turbine until the bird is safe from harm.
