nvbird® ΒΑΤ is a cutting-edge system for protecting bat populations as required by global conservation protocols. Combining thermal cameras and AI technology, it detects bat activity in real time and mitigates wind-turbine interference by decreasing their speed or shutting them down.

How it works

The advanced thermal cameras that monitor the wind farm area day and night detect bat activity to initiate the necessary protective measures.

If bats are found to be in danger from the turbine-generated wind, the OPC client communicates with the WTG, and the turbine speed is cut down to proper safety levels.

If the bats seem to be in danger of colliding with one or more working wind turbines, the system shuts them down until the bats fly away from the critical area.
