The 3D radars installed on the wind farm’s perimeter cover a surrounding area of 10 km radius. When a flock of birds enters the area, the radars immediately record their flight trajectory.

If the birds are calculated to be on a collision course with one or more turbines, the system automatically slows down the specific wind turbines through the farm’s OPC.

As the birds approach further, the cameras capture their image and AI algorithms identify them as protected or not according to the wind farm’s environmental impact assessment. If protected, an ASR sound is transmitted to deter them from reaching the turbines.

If the flock remains inside the critical zone while approaching the RSAs (Rotor Swept Areas), the system automatically shuts down the specific wind turbines until the birds are safe from harm.
